900 KG OF MARIJUANA, 6,000 PACKS OF CIGARETTES AND 11 ILLEGAL MIGRANTS FOUND IN ISTOČNO SARAJEVO

On 8 October 2018, during an intensified control on the occasion of joint action with State Investigation and Protection Agency BIH and monitored by the Prosecutor’s Office of BIH, police officers from Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration, stopped and controlled a passenger motor vehicle and two freight vehicles driven by persons from Montenegro. On that occasion, 900 kg of green herbal matter whose morphology reminds of that of narcotic drug marijuana, whose market value reaches up to BAM 2,000,000. The persons were then transferred to SIPA and Prosecutor’s Office of BIH.

Also, while performing the intensified control within the action mentioned before, the village of Kijevo, Trnovo municipality, after inspecting a passenger vehicle brand ‘Golf 5’, driven by a person whose initials are M.Đ. (born in 1968), police officers found and seized about 6,000 packs of cigarettes of different brands and producers whose market value is about BAM 20,000.00. The interrogation of the person is in progress in Trnovo Police Station.

Additionally, during the action in Trnovo, police officers from Trnovo Police Station controlled a van driven by a person whose initials are M.D. (born in 1996). On that event, they detected 11 citizens of Pakistan in the vehicle. The Department for Foreigners of the Ministry of Security of BIH was informed about the detection of these persons, whereas the M.D. was arrested.
