Persons detained for committing minor and criminal offences

Tonight, the police officers from Banja Luka Police Administration detained several persons for committing minor offences defined by the Law on Public Order and Peace, Law on Public Assembly and Law on Basic Safety of Road Traffic in BIH, and there are reasons to believe that certain criminal offences were also committed.

            Namely, the organiser of the public assembly did not fulfill the obligations regulated by the Law on Public Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, so the announced public assembly did not occur in accordance with the notification, on the location of Trg Krajine square, in the period between 6 pm and 8 pm, but the participants were moving around the city.

The organiser of the assembly did not meet the requirements defined by the Law and joined other participants in protest walk around the city. On that occasion, the participants of the assembly committed several minor offences and there are reasons to believe that certain criminal offences were also committed.

The participants of the assembly also interrupted the previously scheduled concert of a famous singer, Haris Džinović, on the parking space in front of 'Kraš' by shouting, screaming, insulting and damaging the stage and equipment, thus disabling the performance of the scheduled programme.

The police officers are working on identifying and detaining other persons who participated in committing minor and criminal offences.

Mr Davor Dragičević was not detained.
